Boise, Idaho (Corporate Office)

  • Corporate

    This position is responsible for environmental division business development, financial performance, staff development, and risk management. This position will oversee regional staff to assure professional growth, fiscal performance, adherence to STRATA’s values and business philosophy, controlling liability, while building long-term client and employee relationships.
    As the Corporate Environmental Leader, you will report directly to the Board of Directors. However, we expect you will coordinate daily with the area offices from your regional STRATA location.

  • Management

    This position requires regional office leadership in business development, risk, staff, project and financial management; professionalism and integrity to build long-term client and employee relationships. Oversight of all quality control operations as they pertain to the branch office to assure quality control through guidance and professional management. Will have direct management roll over Material, Engineering and Environmental departments. Office leader will carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the STRATA's culture, brand and operational policies, applicable laws, and other responsibilities as detailed above. Responsibilities include procurement, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance and resolving problems.
    At least five to ten (5-10) years experience directly related to duties running a regional office. Candidate must be able to expand, maintain and take ownership in growing and maintaining our client base in geotechnical, environmental, material testing and special inspection services. Ability to maintain and build client relationships is critical to this position. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general plans and specifications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and co-workers and the general public. Ability to work independently on any job and demonstrate proficiency in resolving unforeseen issues on a job site. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram form. Ability to oversee multiple projects at one time, multi-task and remain flexible with adjusting priorities. All management positions require the ability to meet accepted deadlines, within the proposed budget, through effective planning and organization skills. In general, should have the experience and ability to act professionally as the company liaison to its clients.
    Licenses and Certifications Required:
    1. MS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
    2. Professional Engineer Registration
    3. ACI Field Testing Grade I
    4. Radiation Safety Certification

Gillette, Wyoming

  • Department Manager

    Leadership required in business development, risk, staff, project, equipment and financial management, professionalism and integrity to build long-term client and employee relationships. Will have direct supervisory roll over laboratory manager, project managers, inspectors, and technicians (field and lab). Material department manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with STRATA’s culture, brand and operational policies, applicable laws, and other responsibilities as detailed above. Responsibilities include but not limited to training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Salt Lake City, Utah

  • Technician

    Records construction activity, test results, and quantities of materials and prepares concise daily/weekly reports. Communicates results of observations and tests to contractors, engineers, architects, owners and jurisdiction representatives. Provides support and outstanding service to clients. Conducts material testing and analysis.
    Examines project sites to obtain and analyze engineering details. Attends a variety of meetings including pre-construction, construction progress etc. Responsible for supervising own project tasks. Completes timecards in a timely and accurate manner, assuring hours worked are billed correctly. Maintains basic certifications required for the position. Assures accuracy with data. Maintains a high level of personal integrity in representing CE&MT. Completes other duties as assigned.

Spokane, Washington

In 2005 she joined STRATA and has been working out of the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene offices since 2008. Angie is the president of a women’s community service club in Coeur d’Alene, Soroptimist, and actively participates in the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers northern chapter. Her husband is also a geological engineer and the Spokane Area office manager for STRATA.

Brent has led a substantial amount of geotechnical investigations throughout Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.His areas of specialization include shallow and deep foundation recommendations, transmission line, micro pile and anchor projects. Brent achieved his Professional Engineering license in 2010 and is certified in: Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety, Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Designer & Responsible Person – City of Boise, Water Pollution Control Manager (WPCM), ITD Stormwater Inspector, OSHA 40 hour and MSHA.

Ryan discovered the engineering and materials testing industry in 2008. Starting at a large-scale company, he began learning the the ins and outs of our profession from the best seat in the house--materials testing of asphalt, concrete and soil properties. When a position opened up at STRATA, he never looked back. He has recruited some of STRATA's key personnel--a construction services manager and one of their marketers. Ryan is now an ICC Soils Special Inspector and performs lead roles on some of our large transportation projects.

Matt started working in the testing industry in St. George, Utah, at the age of 16. When his boss offered him a raise to get his ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector Certification, he took a year off from school and obtained 6 ICC certs. Ready for a change, in 2009 he advertised his resume. Within the hour, STRATA contacted him and the Moscow office has benefitted since. Matt recently earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and he intends to use his education and certifications to further his career and help grow STRATA.

After graduating with an MS in civil engineering from the University of Idaho, Andy and his wife moved to Richmond, Virginia. Andy worked as a geotechnical engineer for a private firm and cut his teeth on transportation projects. Once they started having babies, they decided to move closer to home. Andy started working in STRATA's Spokane office, and eventually transferred to Moscow. He now enjoys leading the Moscow team and playing an integral part of the design community in his hometown.

Tyrell was accepted into the coveted internship position with STRATA while finishing up his Civil Engineering degree from Utah State University. During his prelims, he worked in the lab learning soil mechanics and concrete testing. After graduation, STRATA hired him on full time. He has worked his way into specialty testing, performing seismographic monitoring, cone penetrometer testing, boring sampling and field engineering.
